    Homemade Lasagna (created by me)

Yesterday, my boyfriend wished me to make a yummy lasagna (he is italian food maniac hehehee).
So, i decide to gain some information about lasagna.
By combining some recipes, i made my own lasagna recipe and here we go.....

    HOMEMADE LASAGNA

    Ingredients :

    SKIN and TOPPING :
    • 100-150 gr dried lasagna sheets
    • 1 liter water (to boil lasagna)
    • 2-3 tbsp. butter
    • 100 gr mozzarella cheese
    • Parmesan cheese powder
    • Parsley leaves, chop
    • Salt
    BOLOGNESE sauce :
    • 250-300 gr ready-to-cook-bolognese-sauce (u can also use 3 tbsp tomato puree combined with salt and sugar)
    • 150 gr minced beef
    • 1-2 onion (choose the big one), chop
    • 50 gr champignon mushroom, sliced it first
    • Oregano powder
    • Salt
    • Pepper
    BECHEMOL sauce :
    • 250 ml liquid milk (use plain)
    • 100 gr cheddar cheese
    • 3-5 tbsp wheat flour
    • Butter
    • Salt and sugar

    How to cook :
    1. SKIN : Prepare 1 liter water to boil the lasagna sheet, put butter and salt to avoid lasagna sheet sticks together. Boil till lasagna sheet expands and mushy. Drain. Set aside.
    2. BOLOGNESE : Heat the butter, put onion and stir-fried until smells good. Put mushroom and minced beef inside then fried well done. Put bolognese / tomato puree inside then add some oregano, salt, and pepper to taste. Pour. Set aside.
    3. BECHEMOL : Heat the butter. Put a half of milk inside but put it slowly to prevent the broken milk. Grate cheddar cheese above. Pour. Put the rest of milk and pour it slowly. Put wheat flour and pour it slowly. Add some sugar and salt to taste. Pour it until the paste is thick enough. Set aside.
    4. COMBINING : Use an alluminium foil to cover the brass or use disposable alluminium mold. Put some butter on the wall of foil. Put lasagna sheet for the bottom, then bolognese sauce, the bechemol. Repeat them until the foil is full. Grate mozzarella cheese for the top and add some parmesan and parsley.
    5. Grilled on the 180°C oven for 10-20minutes until the cheese melted down and the colour turns brown a little. Served it hot.

    What's on Robuchon ?

Yesterday, me, dad. and mom went to the biggest and most crowded mall in Semarang, Paragon Mall. It's been a long time we're not there together because of our hectic day.

After went to church, we moved to Paragon within only 100meters from our church. Because of it's dinner time, we hit the Paragon's foodcourt, ROBUCHON.

I used to love this foodcourt, but nowadays this foodcourt changes it substances. Some of my favourites weren't there anymore. Hiks. Rumors said, the rent for a counter raised constantly month by month so some owners refused to use. But i still have some recommendations to share with. Nothing will stop my appetite. Hahaha.

    Warung Bakso Lasino

Bakso (meatballs) is one of many kind foodie which can be found anywhere. On my campus field trip in Jepara, you can find meatball's stall every 100 meters and they still have loyal customers to keep the stall opened. Hahahahaaa.

But, how to choose a good and delicious one ?
As we know, every "warung bakso" has a same taste: savory, bumpy, salty. And also has same stuffs inside: pure-meatballs, yellow noodles (made from wheat flours and eggs), white noodles (made from rice flour or corn starchs), greenies and sometimes they put beef-tendon-meatballs and offals. Boring......

In Semarang, i have a recommendation which has a little differences.

    WARUNG BAKSO LASINO
Jalan Hayam Wuruk no. 22, Semarang
(In front of : Faculty of Economic and Business, Diponegoro University)

    Map Details :

What makes this stall different to another ? Because of their Fried-Fishball.....

Lasino gives some extra fishballs (i used to order this one without the meatballs hehe).

Fish meat (used mackerel (tenggiri) or catfish (ikan gabus)) combined with garlic and few seasonings then fried well makes these fishballs crunchy outside and chewy inside. The taste is also yummy!

a whole package of my order

standard meatballs bowl stuffed : meatballs, noodles, and offals

    the special one : fried-fishballs !

    PRICE :
    a bowl of meatballs = IDR 12000
    ice tea = IDR 3000

(P.S. i used to order only fishballs, noodles, and offals because of the meatball's taste is so standard)

    Bon appetite !

    Semarang Night Carnival

Semarang Night Carnival (SNC) is kind of Fashion Parade to celebrate Semarang's anniversary which always held on 2nd May.

I want to post some SNC's photos, captured by me with a little edited :

    What a fun night ! :)

    Warung Wedang Mataram

Hello, there ! It's been awhile no-blog-posting hahahahaaa, sorry :p

Okay. This time, i'll introduce u with Wedang Kapuran's twin or maybe the One and Only Wedang Kapuran's enemy.
    It's a joke, don't take it seriously *LOL :p

But that statement was made because of their menu is same one to another.
If u already noticed my-last-post about Kapuran, we can see that Kapuran sell so many hot beverages such as Wedang Kacang Tanah, Wedang Kacang Ijo, Wedang Ketan Duren.
Wedang Mataram did the same things like Kapuran.

    WARUNG WEDANG MATARAM
    Jalan Raya Mataram, Semarang

Here's the menu and also the prices :

As you can see, the prices of beverages is a lil bit higher than Kapuran. But the taste is a lil bit better too.
If u don't like more sweetness on ur Ketan Duren, choose Kapuran. But if u looking for a good and well-done-cooked Wedang Kacang Tanah, choose Mataram.

However, both are my favourites hahaha :p

    Wedang Ketan Duren

    Wedang Ronde
(Ronde : ginger ale was combined with rice flour ball which filled with peanut butter, served hot)

    Wedang Kacang Tanah

Still can't choose the favourite one ? Here's a difference....

The difference is on the side-dish. Mataram has a yummy and traditional side-dish named Tahu Petis.
This is the lite and traditional food originale from Semarang. Tahu Petis is combining 2 dishes : Tahu (Javanese Tofu) and Petis.
Petis is kind of sauce made from the extract of prawn mixed with garlic and many seasonings.

You have to put petis on your tahu before you eat because it served separately. And this is the delight moment of tasting Tahu Petis :9

    Its only cost IDR2000/piece.

    Here's another side-dishes of Wedang Mataram :

Wedang Mataram is opened from 6pm - till drop (NB: you have to come before 6pm because of the crowd).

For closing I stole a quote from Master Musician of Indonesia, Ahmad Dhani, and edited a little : "Wedang Mataram did a good job and that's all i wanna say" *LOL

    Bon appetite !

    WEDANG KAPURAN

I'm back ! Sorry for not posting in few days. Hehe :)

Okay. Yesterday, i went to a new place,

    WARUNG WEDANG KAPURAN

It's named by the street near warung, Kapuran Street.

See the full map at Google Maps

This place sell many hot beverages to accompany your night.
These hot beverages doesn't like you always drank. No coffee, no chocolate, no tea absolutely. This stall sell some hot and traditional beverages. These are : (wedang = hot served)

    • Wedang Kacang Hijau (green beans)
    • Wedang Kacang Tanah (ground nuts) - peanuts had been presto-cooked so it's soft and mellow
    • Wedang Ketan Durian (some sticky rices served with durian's sauce)

    Wedang Ketan Duren

    Wedang Kacang Tanah

Don't be so worry if the taste is a little bit too sweet, a glass of water will be given by the seller. A glass of water helps you to neutralize the taste.

To fulfill your appetite, they also offer some traditional snacks such as :

This place is opened from 3 PM - 10 PM. If you're too late to be here, you'll run out of snacks (like me of course. hiks) :'(

Enough for this and Bon Appetite ! xoxo

Happy Valentine Day feat. Happy Chinese New Year

Happy Valentine Day, guys ! xoxo
Happy Chinese New Year too ! Sorry if i'm too late, but better too late than never :p

Combining those days, i had a story to tell.

My grandma told me yesterday that she will give me a valentine's present. Yipee!
Believe it or not, my grandma gave me two delight presents and those are.......

KUE KERANJANG  (English : basket cake; Chinese : nian gao - 年糕)

For further information about Kue Kranjang see this id.wikipedia or en.wikipedia

My family usually cooked this food again but u can eat this straightly. It tastes sweet and sticky enough (stickier than mochi). Sometimes, when u ate kue kranjang, it stucked in ur palate. It's fun! Haha.

To cook this food, there's 2 ways which my family always did :
    •  Steamed Nian Gao : kue kranjang was sliced little then steamed with coconut milk and salt covered with banana leaves.

    • Fried Nian Gao : kue kranjang was sliced little then fried with scrambled-egg so it's crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. (this is my favourite's way to cook kue kranjang, simple and delicious! )

I believe there's so many ways to cook Kue Kranjang bcause it forms and tastes. I'll try something new then post it on my blog. Wish me luck, guys :)

O my God, this is the best valentine's present ever. Thank u so much, grandma. xoxo

    LUNPIA Gang Lombok

This one is the most wanted food when u go to Semarang. This cute and yummy food named

Lunpia is kind of spring rolls, the difference is what is stuffed inside the popiah (the skin cover made from flour like crepes). In Indonesia (or Semarang as a specific location), these spring rolls contains bamboo sprout (Indonesia : rebung) fried with shrimp and egg. It's served with some sticky sauce like glue so we called it lem (English : glue), some pickles, and fresh leeks.
For further information , see this wikipedia

    Fried Lunpia

In my country, Lunpia has 2 variations :
    • Lunpia Basah (Wet Spring Rolls) - uncooked popiah
    • Lunpia Goreng (Fried Spring Rolls)

Okay. Now, i'll give a recommendation place to get Lunpia in Semarang.

    LUNPIA SEMARANG
Gg. Lombok no. 11, Semarang, Central Java - Indonesia

This is the most popular place to eat Lunpia. Yummy!

To accompany ur appetite u can also find some beverages beside this place. A few months ago, i bought a fresh coconut ice (Indonesia : es degan) and a fresh tutty fruity ice (Indonesia : sup buah). It's so matching, yum!

Don't worry about the price, u just have to pay 12000 IDR for each Lunpia (wet/fried) and 10000-20000 for the ice.

Writing this post made me starving. I'll go get some Lunpias. Haha. Come and enjoy! xoxo

    PECEL Mbok Sador

What do u know about PECEL ?

Pecel is one of many kind traditional Indonesian culinary that came from Eastern Java.

Most people think pecel is made only for vegetarian. Well, it's not 100% false, pecel contains many kind veggies. Pecel contains veggies such as cabbages, long beans, spinaches, bean sprouts, and the original Indonesian veggies like kembang turi, papaya leaves, and Indonesian basil (kemangi).

It looks like salad (as a dressing) bcause contains so many veggies, but pecel is served with rice, many side dishes, crackers, and the delicious spicy-peanut-sauce which made from peanuts, Indonesian lime leaves, tamarinds, kencur, etc.

U can also choose ur side dishes like :
    • Sunny eggs (Indonesia : ceplok),
    • Chicken / beef offals,
    • Snail satays,
    • Tahu / tempe (made from soybean),
    • Salted duck eggs,
    • Martabak (made from veggies and eggs fried inside the soft cover), etc.
The crackers u can choose is rice crackers (Indonesia : karak) or peyek kacang (made from peanuts, flour, and traditional coriander).
Eventough their origin place is Eastern Java, u can find this kind of food in so many place in / near Java island like i did. My favourite place to get this food in my city is in :

    PECEL MBOK SADOR
Simpang Lima Resident, Semarang, Central Java-Indonesia

This is the most crowded place to eat pecel in my city. Well, the taste is incredibly yummy. Haha. Sometimes (mostly in dinner time) u have to be patient because u need to wait in long line. But don't worry, there's a price for the nice one. About the price for a pecel is about 10k-20k IDR (depend on ur side dishes).

Well, that's all i know about PECEL. For further informations u can also search this keyword on Wikipedia. Enjoy! xoxo
